My name is Eric Fassbender, though you may see me online as wellrestedmango. I am a second year PhD student at Northwestern University, in the Media, Technology, and Society program. I live in Uptown Chicago with my two cats, Tippy and Nose. When I am not studying you will find me taking photos, messing around with defunct computers, and playing racquetball
I research the ways that people form teams with and through technology. My current projects center around the ways that teams reconstruct their internal processes when adopting autonomous technologies. I root my work in Organizational Communication and Human-Machine Communication perspectives, studying technology use as a social process.
I am a student affiliate of the Community Data Science Collective, working with Aaron Shaw. The CDSC is a collective of researchers from the University of Washington, Northwestern University, Carelton College, UT Austin, and Purdue. We apply insights from big data for fundamental concerns surrounding the creation and sustenence of online communites. Check out more on on the wiki! I am also a member of the Org Futures lab at Northwestern, working with Ignacio Fernandez Cruz.
